Kia Forte Performance
The 2019 Kia Forte is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that produces 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque through a inline-four cylinder engine layout. Kia offered two transmission options for the 2019 Forte. Buyers have the option to choose between a standard six-speed manual transmission and an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT of the Forte allows its engine to run more efficiently than several other types of automatic transmissions.
The 2.0-liter engine of the 2019 Kia Forte is capable of achieving 27 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway when mated to the standard six-speed manual transmission. For Forte models that are equipped with the CVT the 2.0-liter engine has been rated for 31 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway.
Kia Forte Interior and Technology
There are five different trims offered for the 2019 Kia Forte: The Forte Fe Manual, the Forte Fe IVT, the Forte LXS IVT, the Forte S IVT, and the Forte EX IVT. The Kia Forte offers six-way manually adjustable front seats as a standard feature. The Forte EX IVT sports leather upholstery and heated and ventilated front seats. The 2019 Forte rules its class in cargo space with 15.3 cubic-feet of trunk space available to occupants. A hands-free power trunk is also available as an optional feature for the Forte.
The 2019 Kia Forte packs a variety of standard technology for drivers and passengers to use. Users can connect to the Forte's infotainment system through an 8-inch touchscreen display. Devices can connect to the infotainment system via USB ports, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto. The sound of the infotainment system plays through a standard four-speaker stereo system that can be upgraded to an optional seven-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound stereo system. There are a large variety of other optional features that can be equipped in the 2019 Forte as well.
Kia Forte Safety Features
The 2019 Kia Forte received all-around good ratings on the crash safety tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and an overall four-star rating on the tests performed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The many pieces of safety features that Kia packed into the 2019 Forte helped it achieve these two crash-safety ratings.
Drivers have access to many standard safety features such as driver attention monitoring, a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and lane keep assist. Adaptive headlights, reverse parking sensors, and blind spot monitoring are also included among the many other optional safety features.
